1. PP tank outer wall

Since the outer wall of PP storage tank has long-term contact with the outside air, if the surrounding atmosphere is rich in sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide and other strong acids and alkalis, it will be stored. It is left in PP storage tank due to adhesion, condensation or rainwater. The outer wall of the water tank forms a water film. This water can dissolve acid, alkali, salt and other impurities, which act as electrolyte and cause chemical corrosion on the surface.

Especially in some recesses, welds and places prone to ponding, serious corrosion will occur.

2. PP tank inner wall:

There are two places easy to be corroded, namely the tank top and the place where the medium level fluctuates within the range of 0-300mm from the tank bottom to the tank top.

Since the neutral center line of the discharge pipe is generally about 300mm higher than the tank top, there may be 200mm-300mm water at the tank bottom, which contains a lot of acid and alkali, which will lead to electrochemical corrosion and local corrosion of the inner wall of the PP tank.

At the place where the liquid level on the tank top shakes, due to the contact between the medium and the air, the oxygen concentration difference battery will be generated, which will cause corrosion.

3. Tank bottom:

Generally, one side of the tank bottom is in contact with the medium, and the other side is in contact with the ground. However, the medium side at the bottom of PP tank is severely corroded, mainly due to the accumulated water in the tank. During irrigation, the acid and alkaline substances in the accumulated water will react with metals and cause corrosion.

To sum up, the outer wall, inner wall and bottom of the PP storage tank are vulnerable to corrosion, which should be taken into account during installation or use.
