PPH storage tank Special requirements of
The low temperature PPH storage tank was originally designed to keep the liquid nitrogen temperature constant at - 165. Low temperature storage tank is insulated, usually with vacuum sheath, and is designed and manufactured according to specifications. They can be fixed, mobile or movable. The design temperature range is - 165~- 196 ℃, because the possible temperature of condensation with nitrogen must be considered during design. The particularity of liquefied gas determines the difficulty and special requirements of design.
1. Low temperature resistance: applicable to liquefied gas, stored at or slightly higher than atmospheric pressure. Compared with high-pressure normal temperature storage tank, it can greatly reduce the tank wall thickness and improve the tank performance. At the same time, it must be resistant to low temperature.
2. High standards. Since cryogenic liquid is stored in PPH tank, the storage capacity is large (most of them are 160000m3 tanks at present). If a tank accident occurs, a large amount of volatile refrigerant will form an air mass, which will automatically detonate in the atmosphere. Therefore, the American Petroleum Institute, EN14620 and other specifications require the concept of double wall construction and sealing to ensure safe storage.
3. Special materials: the tank wall of PPH tank is required to be low temperature resistant, generally 9Ni steel. The outer wall of the tank is prestressed reinforced concrete, and the general design tensile strength is 20kPa.
4. Strict thermal insulation measures: Since the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the tank can reach 200 ℃, in order to keep the temperature in the tank at - 162C, it must have good cooling performance, and high-performance cooling materials should be filled between the inside and outside of the tank. The cooling materials at the bottom of the tank shall have sufficient bearing capacity.
5. In order to ensure safety, PPH storage tank is required not to collapse or break under the specified load. Therefore, it is necessary to select appropriate places and avoid unsafe areas. Before construction, the tank must be subject to seismic test.
PPH tank structure has special requirements. Magnetic particle test (MT) and vacuum air tightness test (VBT) shall be carried out for tank joints. During construction, cooling materials shall be strictly selected and carried out according to the specified procedures to ensure that the storage tank is vertical.
